Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of the TypeSay desktop application.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By purchasing, downloading, installing, or using TypeSay ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Software.

2. License

TypeSay is licensed under the MIT License. The source code is freely available for inspection, modification, and redistribution in accordance with the MIT License terms. Purchasing a license grants you the right to use the compiled, distributed version of the Software on your personal devices.

3. Purchase and Payment

TypeSay is sold as a one-time purchase at the listed price ($89.99 USD as of the effective date). This purchase includes:

  • A license to use the Software on your personal devices
  • Free updates within the current major version
  • Access to all supported platforms (Windows, macOS, Linux)

Prices are subject to change for future purchases. Existing purchases are not affected by price changes.

4. Refund Policy

We offer a 14-day refund policy from the date of purchase. If the Software does not function as described on your system, contact us at info@typesay.app for a full refund. No questions asked.

5. Permitted Use

You may use the Software for personal and commercial purposes. You may install the Software on multiple devices that you own or control. You may not redistribute the compiled Software as a commercial product or sublicense it to others.

6. Privacy

TypeSay does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. The accuracy of speech-to-text transcription depends on factors including audio quality, accent, background noise, and the selected Whisper model.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the use of the Software, whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise. The maximum aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the Software.

9. Third-Party Components

TypeSay incorporates open-source components including whisper.cpp, Tauri, SolidJS, and others. These components are subject to their respective licenses (primarily MIT and Apache 2.0). A complete list of dependencies and their licenses is available in the application source code.

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
